The tramp mirror was inspired by the intricate and offbeat woodcarvings of 19th century American tramps. The border is made up of more than 600 individually shaped pieces of brass, while the structure displays vibrant blue straw marquetry that brings life and intrigue into any interior space. Brüt Design is one of only a handful of studios around the world that has mastered the technique of Straw Marquetry. The tramp mirror is also available with a hammered bronze border.

Drawing on diverse inspiration, Brüt Design combines an admiration for the organic, the offbeat, and the macabre, with a refined technical hand. Brüt seeks beauty where beauty was overlooked and transform both humble and extravagant materials into extraordinary works of art.
Brüt Design's founder, Gerard Williams, was trained in the ancient French tradition of cabinet making known as Ébénisterie, which is a craft known for its unrivaled elegance and technical savoir-faire. It is our joy to honor the spirit of the craft by mastering the techniques of the past and bringing them into a new age. Many of our pieces utilize materials and techniques, only practiced by a handful of craftsmen around the world.
Custom commissions and projects, from small pieces of furniture to entire interiors, are welcomed.
