BRE Hotels & Resorts operates properties across the country, and its New York headquarters was designed to feel closer to one of its own lobbies. Our studio created the interiors from new construction up, so visiting owners and partners are welcomed with real hospitality the moment they arrive.

The office

We started with an empty floor plate and selected the entire palette from the ground up: forest green and terracotta paint, black-framed glass and warm natural wood. The tan paneling at reception began as acoustic treatment, and we turned it into a sculptural wall that wraps much of the interior, adding visual intrigue as well as function.

The design

The lounge is where the brand comes through most. Terracotta walls set a warm backdrop for a long charcoal sectional and bouclé swivel chairs gathered around a marble-topped table, with a large aerial coastline photograph above, so the room feels more like a hotel bar than a meeting area.

In the kitchen we kept things simple and functional: leather-seated stools at a white island, open shelving and grey tile. The team puts a big focus on communal lunches and events, so we made the furniture modular, ready to shift between seating arrangements and party sizes.
