Boston Properties asked our studio to decorate a suite at the iconic General Motors Building, its tower on Fifth Avenue facing Central Park. We furnished the floor so prospective tenants could picture a working headquarters, all the way from the reception and kitchen to the corner office.

The suite

Each zone needed to read as both stylish and functional on building tours, so we gave the spaces a feeling of relaxed comfort, with custom wall treatments, color-blocked furniture pieces and accessory details down to the coffee table books.

The design

Skyline views do most of the work, so we kept the base quiet with white walls, grey carpet and stone tile. Color comes through the furniture: cognac leather armchairs, mustard seats and rust velvet lounge pieces turned toward the windows.

The kitchen became the most playful room in the suite. Dotted wallpaper and botanical prints sit behind a marble communal table with stools, giving teams a place to gather over lunch.
